Shavkat Sabirov, President of the Internet Association of Kazakhstan

Mr. Sabirov graduated from Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radio Electronics, and is fluent in Russian and English. He is the founder and owner of a number of online systems and websites.

Mr. Sabirov worked at Gorod-GAI in Almaty for eight years, as director for software and technological support, and then headed the Olivetti branch office in the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2003 to 2005, he worked as a business analyst under contract with Scotia Capital and Scotia Finance in Toronto (Canada). From 2006, he served as director general of commercial companies and in 2009, he was elected president of the public organization Internet Association of Kazakhstan.

Mr. Sabirov actively participates in drafting legislation in the field of ICT and new technologies in Kazakhstan. He is a member of expert groups of various state authorities, and participates in the work of international organizations, such as ICANN, RIPE NCC and others.

He lives in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
